The 29th National Volleyball Championships and the Fourth International Women’s Volleyball Championships have kicked off in Pokhara.
Acting Chairman of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and Chairman of West Regional Sports Development Committee Dipak Koirala inaugurated the championships amid a programme on Friday, 20 February.
As many as nine teams, one each from all the Five Development Regions, Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Tribhuvan University are competing in the championship organized at Pokhara Stadium by the West-Regional Volleyball Association.
Similarly, six teams including Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, New Dynamic Academy, Western Development Region and a team from Uttar Pradesh, India, are participating in the women’s international volleyball championship.
The winners will be awarded Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, and Rs 20,000, respectively. The organizer estimates it will require Rs 2.8 million to organize the championships that would conclude on February 25. RSS
