HSSC 2017: Goldengate record their third win

Goldengate Int’l College (GGIC) veterans maintained their win run with an easy win over Public Youth Campus (PYC) at the Hari Sharan Smriti Cup 2017 veteran’s basketball tournament.

With the place for finalists and the standing for the other two teams decided for, neither side had much to player for.

Needless to say, GGIC took it easy in the first quarter looking slightly rusty which allowed PYC to lead.

However, GGIC weren’t going to let their winning run slide. They pressed a little in the subsequent quarters to turn things around build a healthy lead of 14 points at the end of the third quarter.

PYC put on some effort to close the gap in the final quarter…but GGIC held on.

Bipen Maharjan scored 19 points for GGIC closely followed by Karma Gurung scoring 18 points. Shanta Ratna contributed 12 points.

As for PYC, Santosh Tamrakar, Sanjay Prajapati and Saroj Manandhar got in the double digit scoreline.

Final score: GGIC 62-56 PYC (10-14, 21-11, 22-14, 09-17).

The final between GGIC and BMK is scheduled for Saturday (April 22) at 3:00 pm.
