The Armed Police Force (APF) club has beaten Mid Western team by 7-0 in the football match held under the 7th National Sports Championship at ANFA Technical Ground in Dharan on Friday.
The 7th national sports event was inaugurated by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Biratnagar-based Martyr Stadium today.
APF’s Ranjan Bista gave an early led to his team by opening the score in the 10th minutes. Mid Western team’s Chetan Tharu’s suicidal goal helped APF gain the second goal.
APF continued its winning spree with the goals scored at 45th, 55th, 79th and 90th minute.
Similarly, in the second match held in the inaugural day of the Championship, Tribhuvan Army Club of the Nepal Army defeated Far-Western Team by 1-0. The headed goal from Suman Aryal in the 7th minute was enough to take the team to victory.
The next Group A match to be held on Saturday will take place between the Nepal Police and the Western Team while Mid Western and Eastern Team will vie in the second match under the same group.
Meanwhile, Nepal Police team beat Mid Western Team by 5-0 in the women’s football being held under the flagship of the Seventh National Games at Duhabi, Sunsari. RSS
