People from Myagdi district living and working in Bahrain have contributed more than Rs 800,000 to the Om Kumari Shanti Kosh, a fund meant for supporting the needy for their medical treatment.
The Myagdi Relief Committee, Bahrain collected Rs 837,555 and contributed it to the fund based in Myagdi. The amount was handed over to Rajesh Shakya, president of the fund, on Thursday.
The aim is to scale up the fund to Rs 15 million and to provide monetary assistance to the needy patients out of the interest accruing from this.
So far 32 patients suffering from major diseases have benefited from the assistance provided by the fund. The fund has provided more than Rs 7 million for this purpose. RSS
