Government of Nepal has said that the Supreme Court order on reinstatement of Sushila Karki as the Chief Justice was an interference on the jurisdiction of the Legislature-Parliament.
The meeting of the leaders of the ruling parties Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-Maoist Centre following the court order also assessed that the Supreme Court had breached the rights of the people’s representatives by interfering in the jurisdiction of the highest institution of the people’s representatives.
The leaders attending the meeting on Friday expressed their qualm over the repeated interference in the jurisdiction of the parliament.
Shedding light on the conclusions of the meeting, CPN-MC Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal said, “The Supreme Court decision violating the jurisdiction of the supreme body of the people elected representatives is a mockery of the constitutional norms and values.
The order came at a time when the regressive forces have been rearing their heads on the eve of the elections is ‘condemnable’.
The meeting was attended by the top leaders of the ruling parties including Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pushpa Kamal Dahal. RSS
