At least 1,069 aspiring mountaineers have obtained permits to climb various mountains in Nepal in the autumn fall this year.
Gyanendra Kumar Shrestha, Liaison Officer at the Department of Tourism, told RSS said that he was hopeful that more mountaineers would obtain climbing permit.
Mid-September to mid-November is considered the most appropriate time for climbing mountains in Nepal.
Earlier in 2014, a total of 1,385 mountaineers had obtained permit while more than 2,000 climbers were granted permit in 2015, according to Shrestha.
Some of the popular mountains for climbers include Mount Manaslu, Mount Kanchanjunga, Mount Dhaulagiri and Mount Ama Dablam among others. RSS
