The ‘Three Decades of Academic Advocacy for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women in Nepal’ was released amid a prorgramme in Kathmandu today.
Written by former Professor of the Tribhuvan University (TU), Dr Chandra Bhadra, the 347-page book was jointly launched by Dr Meena Acharya and former Professor at the TU, Laxmi Keshari Manandhar.
Prof Manandhar said Dr Bhadra has mentioned in her book how gender equality and women’s empowerment study started in Nepal. She added that the book which encompasses women’s situation and the struggle for right of three decades’ period can be useful for students and teachers alike.
Author Dr Bhadra said the book was written with an aim of informing the current generation of the write ups that she wrote during her academic years and on topics related to rural women and gender concerns.
The price of the book consisting of articles, both in Nepali and English, is Rs 500 for soft cover and Rs 1,000 for hard copy.
