Sabita Khadka is a young Nepali women’s basketball player who has gone on to win numerous cup titles in the domestic scene.
Sabita Khadka was born and raised in Kathmandu to parents (dad, an engineer and mom, a housewife). She has two older sisters who also played basketball during their school years.
Inspired by her two older sisters, Sabita Khadka started basketball at an early age. She started her first basketball lessons at Wilson School at the age of 12 and moved to Shridiwa Int’l College where she trained under former Nepal international and current player coach at Army Club, Ajay Manandhar.
She joined Trinity College for higher secondary education where she made the girls’ team. Unfortunately, Trinity College didn’t have a regular basketball programme for girls. So she played for various colleges (including Xavier Int’l College and Goldengate Int’l College) while continuing her education at Trinity College.
She joined Prime College Women’s team in 2016 and she has been a regular for them since. However, she was out of the game for a while due to knee injury (partial ACL tear) during the NeBA president Cup 3×3 basketball championships 2017.
She has gone on to win numerous accolades with Prime College which includes, the NeBA women’s championships in 2016, BMK Cup 2017, KCM Bash 2017, NeBA President Cup 3×3 basketball championships 2017 and BOOM Women’s Basketball League 2017.
She won the MVP award at the BOOM Women’s Basketball League 2017.
